It's Just Around the Corner

I will be heading out to Pennsylvania in two weeks on January 10th and then leaving for Hong Kong on the 14th. I currently have $5,900 of the total $12,500 needed to complete the program. I do, however have enough to get me through the first six months.

I'm getting really excited and really nervous, I can't quite explain the feeling, knowing that I'm going to be gone for a year and not see anyone I know. I do know that God has a plan for me in this year, and I don't know exactly what that plan is, but I am so eager to see it unfold as I walk it out. I would just really like to thank everyone for their financial support, but mostly for the prayer. I know I won't be alone and that I'll have God with me the entire way and all of you praying and interceding for me.

It's all going by so fast, it feels like just yesterday i was looking into YWAM and God told me to go to Hong Kong. It's a very surreal feeling that I'm actually leaving, I've never even been away from home for more than two weeks, let alone 12 months. That's 52 weeks, 26 times longer than my longest time away from home. I just know some amazing things are going to happen both in me and those around me. I am excited for all of you to be a part of it and I'm looking forward to what God has in store for us all.

Letters Have Been Sent

I have officially sent the letters in the mail. I hope that everyone has recieved one either by mail or email. If you did not receive one and you would like one sent to you please let me know.

Hello Everyone,

I am so excited to tell you what God has been doing in my life these past few months. As you may know I recently went on a mission trip to Jamaica and I am so thankful for all the prayers and financial support everyone gave to make it possible. After Jamaica, God placed me in Shepherd Excavating, building foundations for houses because of my experience working in concrete for the locals.
I have been trying to faithfully follow God and listen to his voice. I have been feeling a strong call from God to go into China for some time now, although I’ve had an interest in going, I just recently really opened myself up to it and he showed me what it is that he is calling me to.
God has really seemed to open the doors at just the right time. I was praying and looking and God told me to go on a DTS, (Discipleship Training School) which is three months of lecture and spiritual growth and two months of outreach and evangelism in other countries. I thought DTS was awesome, but I felt like there was more. Then I found it, God showed me what he wanted me to do, AYA (A Year in Asia). AYA is a combination of three programs, DTS, FEET (Far East Evangelism Team), and COR (Christmas Outreach). FEET is a 5 month mobile evangelism team that begins with six weeks of preparation in Hong Kong, We are then sent out into 3-4 other Asian countries. COR is a two week program that focuses on reaching Hong Kong with the true message of Christmas, JESUS! We will spend the first couple of days in worship, intercession, and training in ministry. Then we will go into schools, shopping malls, and the city streets.
I will be doing A Year in Asia and my DTS will run January 16th to June 7th, the cost of this portion of the trip will be $5,200. It is broken up into $4,000 for the lecture phase and $1,200 for the outreach. After the DTS I will be heading into the FEET program, which runs from mid-august to the beginning of December, the cost for this program is $4,700. The last thing I will be doing is the Christmas Outreach which runs from December 13th-27th, the cost of this is $600. I will also have to cover the cost of the flights to and from Hong Kong/USA the cost of that will be roughly $2,000. That brings the total amount needed for the trip to $12,500.
I simply ask that you would partner with me in prayer while I am walking through this. I am also asking for those of you who can, to give financially, every little bit will help. Please pray and ask God if he wants you to give. It would be awesome if there were a couple of people who would be willing to give monthly. I will be posting a blog and keeping you updated if you wish to subscribe, huntersmissions.blogspot.com. If you decide to give please make checks payable to ACFM and put Hunter Hott in the memo section. You can make them out to me, but if you make them out to ACFM your donation will be tax deductible. Thank you so much for your prayers, they are greatly appreciated.

With Love,

 Hunter Hott

My First Taste of Missions

This summer I went on my first mission trip, which was also my first time out of the country. I had the privelege of being able to go to Jamaica and work with the wonderful people there. I got to meet a lot of new people and from all the work we did there and the relationships we built, it was absolutely life changing. I came back with a complete realization of the fact that God is the god of all the world and he is the same in the U.S. as he is in anywhere else in the world.

Most of our work there was physical labor at the mission base and blessing the staff there. We were able to help them pour the concrete roof of their hurricane safe house, which actually wound up getting me a job in concrete once I got back.
