South Africa

I have been living here in South Africa for almost two months now at the Iris Footprints base in Johannesburg. I had originally thought I would be leaving for home on August 25th, but God has asked me to stay one month longer until September 26th. It's amazing what God is doing here, He's teaching me so much about family and love, I have really grown to love all of the children here (they are aged 7 months to 18 years old). I never thought that I could learn so much from all of these children and every person that is a part of this family. I am learning more about what God's love looks like.

I have been helping out with teaching preschool and cooking for all of the people who live here. It has been challenging at times, but it's been such a tremendous blessing. Sometimes we go out and do outreaches in the surrounding area. Just finding ways to show love, spend time with people and see needs met. One day it might be feeding or giving clothes and necessities, or even just painting rocks with people. It's so wonderful to see how when we show the love of God lives are changed.

I am so blessed being here and being allowed to be a part of what God is doing here, however I am also very excited about returning home as well. Due to the fact that my oldest brother is getting married in October and the second oldest just got engaged to his girlfriend. I an looking forward to all that God has in store in the coming months.

Let us demonstrate God's love and together see this world forever changed.

New Beginnings

It is so awesome to see all the amazing things that God does and to be able to be a part of it. I have been so blessed as I have been entering into this new season in my life and watching friends and family walking into new seasons as well. I am privileged to be able to spend this time in Pennsylvania before I head out to South Africa. I got to see two dear friends of mine get married and commit their lives to one another. I had the privilege of seeing the my youth kids as they came in for missions training and many of them going to do foreign missions. I'm so proud of them all, for many of them this is the first time they will have done anything like this. I am just so blessed to see all that God is doing here in America in this next season as I am preparing to leave.

God has been taking me into a place with him where all I can do is fully rely on him. As I have been preparing to go to South Africa, God has asked me to purchase a one way ticket and that I will return when he tells me that it is time to come home. I have purchased a one way ticket and have made contact with Iris Footprints, the organization that I will be working with in Johannesburg, South Africa. I received confirmation from them that I can make a one month commitment and stay for as long as God would like me to be there, however within the past week or two I have been notified that immigration policies of South Africa have changed and I will need to purchase a return flight. I am continuing to pray and work through this process with God. I am very excited to see how everything turns out and how God comes through with everything. I will be flying out on July 1st and will arrive on July 2nd.

As I mentioned earlier I am in Pennsylvania until I leave for South Africa. I am currently attending the Reach School of Supernatural while I am here. It is good preparation for me going to South Africa. The leader of the school is Merle Shenk who is currently living in there and is preparing a team to go with him when he returns for a couple weeks. We have been learning about so many wonderful things, my favorite thing that we have talked about is ministry to Muslim people. So many times we forget that they are people who feel, think, and love. Yes there are some who are extreme, but the truth is that they don't know Jesus and without that, how would any of us have any direction for our lives. I am truly beyond words with the anticipation and excitement for all the wonderful things my heavenly Papa has in store for me.

Also I have just created a website where I have some photos and talk a little about my vision:

Let's Go For It

I just wanted to inform you all that there is a chance that this could be my last blog post for about two and a half months. I will try to see what I can do, but I will be leaving for outreach on Wednesday. Just a reminder the nations we will be going to that I can mention on the internet are India, Cambodia, and Thailand

We did go on a local outreach today in Hong Kong to reach out to the people there, we were able to speak truth into many people lives and minister to them in powerful ways. God is already beginning to move powerfully within this FEET team and I am very excited to see what all he is going to do in and through all of us.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and support I will try to keep you updated as much as possible we venture out into the nations for God. I now am only about $15 US dollars short of having my feet fully paid off which means that I do have enough to go on outreach, Praise God (: Since this may be that last post I post for a while I want to share something with all of you that has really impacted me. This video does have two foul word in it so beware, but the message is very powerful.

Learning to Love

I thought going into this last week about evangelism that since I already learned about evangelism in my DTS I wouldn't need to really pay too much attention, I was wrong! I'm so glad that I decided to listen to God and to pay attention during the evangelism teaching. I have been really learning how to keep one ear open to God and what he has to say while talking with people. Even when we are just practicing evangelism, He still wants us to listen to him. It's not about convincing people to follow God, it's about listening to God and doing what he says and Loving the people like he loves them. When you share with someone it's not up to you whether or not that person is going to accept Jesus. One of the important things I've been learning is to get all the acceptance and love that I need in Jesus and know that people are going to reject me with the message that I have to give them. If Jesus was rejected by man, what makes us think that we won't be rejected.

God has really been giving me more of a heart for the nations, I'm beginning to realize more of what Gods plan is and how much he love people. I've been starting to look at everyone with a little bit more of Christ's love and it's life changing. I have one prayer that I started my year with and it keeps resonating in my heart and it has grown a bit. "Jesus I want to know the real you, I don't want to know what other people say about you. I just want to know you and who you say you are." God has grown the prayer from that a little bit and added these two parts: "I want to know the real God the one who created the heavens and the earth, I don't want others opinions of who you are. I just want YOU!" and " I want to Holy Spirit, my guidance and my comforter. I want to know you intimately on a very personal level, guide my life and show me your glory!" These are the prayers of my heart!

One last thing, I now know the countries of my outreach for FEET! We will be going to India, Thailand, Cambodia, and one other country that I can't mention on the internet. Please be praying for our team in the coming weeks and months, we will be leaving for outreach on Sept 18th. Also there are quite a few of us that are not feeling well so if you could keep us in prayer for health this next that would be greatly appreciated.

I love you all so much!

New and Exciting Things Ahead

I love and miss everyone very much and I hope you are doing great! I’m sorry that it’s been so long since I posted on my blog, but I fully intend to intentionally post more often. Now I would like to update you on how things are going over here in Hong Kong. For the past two months I have been doing Mission Building, which is just serving at the YWAM base in whatever ways they need me. During this time God was able to teach me a lot about being intentional in spending time with him. I have learned that without spending time with God each day we become weak and the enemy can take full advantage of that. It began to make me ineffective within my ministry, I wasn't sure why and then God gave me a revelation of what was happening. I was trying to move in my own strength and God humbled me and showed me my dependency for him. He's continuing to teach me many things and I'm looking forward to everything he has in store ahead.
During my mission building phase, I also got to take part in a local ministry called “Sons and Daughters”. It is a ministry working in the red light districts of Hong Kong, which are areas where prostitution and many other illegal activities occur regularly. My main focus is to reach the men of the red light district and share with them, which in turn gives the girls on my team an opportunity to share more effectively with the women there. After going there every week I began to build relationships with the guys who are there, each one having their own personal story of how they got there and why they stay. I met one very interesting man from Fiji, that man was so full of love. He was very drunk at the time that I met him, but he kept sharing with me about how much better he wanted for me and that he didn’t want me to go through all that he went through. After talking with him I was able to learn the story of why he was here in Hong Kong. He used to be a farmer in Fiji until something bad happened. His cousin convinced him to sell his house and his land and to go to Australia. So he sold everything he had hoping to have a better life and a better farm over in Australia, but he didn’t get the life he wanted. He wound up in Hong Kong, and didn’t have enough money to leave when he was here. Then while here his visa expired and they arrested him and now he is under the governmental system of Hong Kong, trying to find a way to get out of the life he is now stuck in. He now longer has a place that he can really call home; his home now is hanging out with the men on the streets in Hong Kong. Seeing people with such hurts and seeing the love that he still has is incredible. It makes me feel more eager to meet with him share with him the freedom and love that Jesus has for him. Unfortunately, I have not seen him since that night. I keep praying for all involved the red light district they are all beautiful people who need to be shown the true love of God!
This is a picture of me and my wonderful FEET team!
Freshly starting now is the next program called FEET, Far East Evangelism Team, where we will be going to 3-4 different countries throughout Asia sharing the gospel for 2-3 months. We are in the preparation/lecture phase of FEET where we will be learning more about God's heart for the nations. We will also be learning dramas and dances that we will use to share the gospel, I have gotten a small taste of the dramas and they are awesome and powerful. We will be doing this preparation for about one month in Hong Kong before we are launched out for our 2-3 month outreach. We have been sharing our testimonies and praying for one another during the first week. We are learning about worship and have just begun learning our dances and dramas. I'm very excited to see what God is going to do in and through my team during this program. I'll keep you all updated on what's going on.
I would like to share a couple of prayer requests with you. I have a friend who just had her best friend back home pass away and she has returned home, but now must find a way to pay for her ticket. Please pray for her and her friends with this tragedy and provision of funds. My friend Samuel also still needs approximately $4000 USD to finish the program and return home. I am also still in need of funds, approximately $3300-3500 USD. Please keep all of us in your prayers for these things and also for our time here in Asia. I love you all and I am I'm so excited that we're going on this journey together.

Thank You God

Well I know it's been a while since posted, but I felt like this would be the perfect time to do it. We have been doing classes recently on spiritual warfare and learning about how necessary it is. Well it turns out as we were learning about it we really got to put it into practice and take ground for God. It is really cool to actually understand the power that we have in Christ. Now when we encounters the enemy we know there is no need to be afraid because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. This week however was about Destiny by Design. We got to learn about the call on our lives and how God really has created each of us for a purpose and he wants to see us get there. I got to learn a lot about God's call on my life and I can say I know I'm going to be in China doing some amazing things. Now I need to figure out how God wants me to accomplish all of it. He has already started by helping to reveal my true Identity to me. It has been hard, but so rewarding! I thank God for my housemates and how great they are. I just want to tell all of you about one awesome miracle that happened this weekend! It all started by me falling down a mountain and puncturing my arm. My friend Lee and I decided to try to find a medical clinic in a town called Tsuen Wan, but we couldn't find anything. We kept praying and seeking God's guidance. We walked around and kept praying for guidance and for angels to come and help us. We then had two people point us to the clinic and the clinic told me I needed to go to the hospital THAT NIGHT or it would become infected. I had no money at all, so Lee and I kept praying and decided to got to the government hospital there, it is $570 Hong Kong dollars for a non resident visit. We finally went and they took me in without a passport or medical insurance, I only had my Ohio drivers license. Lee tried to pay with a thousand dollars and we were told they didn't have change and handed back the money. God had given me a free doctor visit with 2 X-rays, antibiotics, pain medicine, and a cleaned wound all free of charge. We went back the next day to pick up the antibiotics and thought we might pay, but the cashier section in the hospital was locked. God is awesome and he is the great provider of all needs.

Week 3 In Hong Kong

Hey everyone, just keeping you updated about this awesome adventure in Hong Kong. We spent this whole last week learning about evangelism. We also learned dances and dramas to get the people's attention and give them the gospel in a way they can understand. We went on our first local outreach on Friday and it was awesome. I got to share my testimony in the Temple Street Market in Hong Kong. We performed our dances and dramas , spoke and then ministered to the people. It was really cool for me because another student, Spencer, and I got to minister to a girl who did not speak much English. God is a great interpreter and provider. Right when we needed it one of the guys on our team who spoke her language came and helped to interpret. We were able to see this girl very unsure and ready to cry, she was not yet ready to give her life to Christ, but to see him move in her like that was beyond anything that words could ever say! I am doing very well and taking in a lot of great stuff right now. I'm so excited to see all the more God has in store!
Love you all and miss you a lot!
