I love and
miss everyone very much and I hope you are doing great! I’m sorry that it’s
been so long since I posted on my blog, but I fully intend to intentionally
post more often. Now I would like to update you on how things are going over
here in Hong Kong. For the past two months I have been doing Mission Building, which is just serving at the YWAM base in whatever ways they need
me. During this time God was able to teach me a lot about being intentional in
spending time with him. I have learned that without spending time with God each
day we become weak and the enemy can take full advantage of that. It began to
make me ineffective within my ministry, I wasn't sure why and then God gave me
a revelation of what was happening. I was trying to move in my own strength and
God humbled me and showed me my dependency for him. He's continuing to teach me
many things and I'm looking forward to everything he has in store ahead.
During my mission building phase, I also
got to take part in a local ministry called “Sons and Daughters”. It is a
ministry working in the red light districts of Hong Kong, which are areas where
prostitution and many other illegal activities occur regularly. My main focus
is to reach the men of the red light district and share with them, which in
turn gives the girls on my team an opportunity to share more effectively with
the women there. After going there every week I began to build relationships
with the guys who are there, each one having their own personal story of how
they got there and why they stay. I met one very interesting man from Fiji,
that man was so full of love. He was very drunk at the time that I met him, but
he kept sharing with me about how much better he wanted for me and that he didn’t
want me to go through all that he went through. After talking with him I was
able to learn the story of why he was here in Hong Kong. He used to be a farmer
in Fiji until something bad happened. His cousin convinced him to sell his
house and his land and to go to Australia. So he sold everything he had hoping
to have a better life and a better farm over in Australia, but he didn’t get
the life he wanted. He wound up in Hong Kong, and didn’t have enough money to
leave when he was here. Then while here his visa expired and they arrested him
and now he is under the governmental system of Hong Kong, trying to find a way
to get out of the life he is now stuck in. He now longer has a place that he
can really call home; his home now is hanging out with the men on the streets
in Hong Kong. Seeing people with such hurts and seeing the love that he still
has is incredible. It makes me feel more eager to meet with him share with him
the freedom and love that Jesus has for him. Unfortunately, I have not seen him
since that night. I keep praying for all involved the red light district they
are all beautiful people who need to be shown the true love of God!

I would like to share a couple of prayer
requests with you. I have a friend who just had her best friend back home pass
away and she has returned home, but now must find a way to pay for her ticket.
Please pray for her and her friends with this tragedy and provision of funds.
My friend Samuel also still needs approximately $4000 USD to finish the program
and return home. I am also still in need of funds, approximately $3300-3500
USD. Please keep all of us in your prayers for these things and also for our
time here in Asia. I love you all and I am I'm so excited
that we're going on this journey together.
